Fine Distilled Spirits
It’s in our blood.
With American family roots dating back to 1630, we have a long tradition of distilling in our blood.
The Bullock Distillery was organized in 2017 by Dusta Tanner, John Bullock and Tighe Bullock when the trio remodeled the historic building at 121 Washington Street, West, Charleston, West Virginia.
Dusta and the Tanner family have a long history of making moonshine in Roane County, West Virginia.
The Bullock family has produced spirits in Robeson County, North Carolina since before the American Revolution.
Both families are proud of their distilling traditions.

Our Special Ingredient?
Water.
Where does The Bullock Distillery draw its water from?
Bullock’s Cave, Falling Spring Mountain, Greenbrier County, West Virginia!
Falling Spring Mountain is truly a geologic phenomena, acting as a buffer zone for the hydrologic gradient of the Karst water system of the Greenbrier Valley. Our system in Greenbrier Valley drains deep groundwater from the base of Droop Mountain and Falling Spring Mountain.
Unlike other distilleries, The Bullock Distillery does not use reverse osmosis or carbon filtration to treat our water.
Why? Because our limestone water lacks the heavy elements present in the water of most distilleries. And it strips the natural sweet flavors of pure Karst limestone water!
Bacteria and viruses are taken care of during the fermentation and distillation processes. This ensures that only the mountain’s natural limestone filtration system touches our water.

“We have fond memories of helping our grandfather and uncle on their maple syrup farms when we were children. Walking through the woods, gathering buckets full of sap, sneaking a sip here and there, was always an exciting time. It was hard work but created fond memories of spending time together and instilled in us a love for the tradition of making pure maple syrup.
In 2019, when we were presented the opportunity to have our own maple syrup camp, we were excited to have the opportunity to pass these same moments and traditions on to our own children. Maple syrup is a family affair for us, with the whole family getting involved. We look forward to producing high quality maple products, and many memories for years to come.”
